SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Friends of Beaver Creek State Park Pioneer Village, 12021 Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, have published the village’s own cookbook including a history. The village was conceived by Columbiana Council of Forests and Parks and built in the 1960s. The history includes the period it represents, 1790 to 1830. The book includes both black and white and color views of the village and 300 pioneer and modern recipes. Included are recipes from noted local residents as well as some from first ladies Martha Washington and Michelle Obama, TV journalist Deborah Norville, and local TV and newspaper reporters. The book sells for $10, and is available when Pioneer Village is open for special events and weekends May 4 through mid-October.
