CHARDON

Winning pitcher Makayla Shore (13-3) struck out five batters and walked none. She had three hits and her RBI double scored the game-winning run. McKenzie Stimpert had two hits and Stephanie Ohalek hit a solo homer.

NDCL 11, Ursuline 3

CHARDON

Notre Dame Cathedral Latin scored nine times in the second inning in the championship game of the NDCL Invitational. Macey Gunther tripled for the Irish (15-5).

Cardinal Mooney 15-12, Bedford 8-2

BOARDMAN

Angela Penza, Shannon Saadey and Marche’ Venable were honored on senior day at Field of Dreams as the Cardinals improved to 7-12. All three seniors had four hits each on the day, including a mammoth home run by Venable. Freshman Sydney Kocher ripped six hits and classmate Jami DiFabio had four.

Western Reserve 15-16, Elyria Catholic 0-1

ELYRIA

In the opener, April Lude and Brittney Lude combined to toss a five-inning one hitter. April Lude’s three hits included two doubles that drove in two runs. Maddie Kreitzburg and Marley Oles homered while Tory White doubled and drove in three runs. Kretztburg also had three RBIs. In the second game, April Lude hit her 10th homer of the season to drive in two runs. Jenny Stubbs had two hits, scored twice and drove in three runs. Oles and Kreitzburg each had two hits and three RBIs.

East Palestine 11-7, Alliance 1-4

EAST PALESTINE

Winning pitcher Karly Pence hit for the cycle, driving in seven runs with a homer, triple, double and single. She struck out five batters and walked three. Logan Gatchell had three hits. In the second game, Jess Leake’s two-out, two run single in the sixth inning put the Bulldogs (8-13) ahead. Pence (8-9) and Gatchell each had three hits. The Aviators are 3-13.

Bristol 9, Lordstown 3

LORDSTOWN

Kylie Stoneman hit a two-run homer in the first inning and a three-run shot in the sixth to power the Panthers to a Northeastern Athletic Conference victory over the Red Devils (7-5, 5-5). Lindsey Elza singled and doubled for Bristol and Panthers pitcher Ashley Slusher pitched a five-hitter. Ally Hajnosz had two of Lordstown’s hits, both of them triples.
