Dinner set to benefit Potentials Foundation

A benefit dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 19 at Palermo Banquet Center, 394 Tenney Ave.

The event is being sponsored by Team Jessalyn to benefit Potentials Foundation, a nonprofit organization that assists those with primordial dwarfism.

Dinners cost $10, and the menu will include pork roast or chicken, rice and beans, bread, salad and dessert.

There also will be a bake sale, basket auction and 50-50 raffle.

Jessalyn, is 91/2 years old, is 40 inches tall and weighs 20 pounds. She has been diagnosed with primordial dwarfism. She is the only one in the state of Ohio. There are 50 sufferers in the United States and 150 in the world. Those afflicted are prone to aneurysms, strokes and other medical issues.
