Butchers honored for 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Butcher of Mineral Ridge were honored by their children at a party April 27 at Vernon’s Cafe in Niles for their 50th wedding anniversary.

The former Linda Davis married Mr. Butcher April 27, 1963, in Salem, W.Va.

Their children are Joe Butcher of Wexford, Pa., and Cheryl Armstrong of Liberty. Eight grandchildren complete the family.

The couple are members of First Presbyterian Church of Girard.

Mrs. Butcher is a homemaker.

Mr. Butcher retired from General Motors, Lordstown, in 1998. He is a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1965.
