The Poland-Boardman Child Care Center celebrated the National Week of the Young Child from April 14-20 by hosting special events for the children.

Some of the events included under the sea day, pet day, beach day, a campout, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, “I Am Special” celebration, pizza party, a special visit with Poland library storyteller, a special visit with Poland police chief Russ Beatty and an ice cream party.

The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. This year’s theme for the Week of the Young Child was “Early Years are Learning Years.”
