BGMS girls track wins meet

The Boardman Glenwood Middle School girls track team won a triangular track meet against Center and Howland on April 22 with a score of 59-34-22. Top performer for Glenwood was Logan Mitchell, placing first in the 100-meter dash, long jump and high jump. Casey Zaitzew took first in the 1600-meter run, while Cassie Stitt and Makayla D’Eramo took first in the 800-meter run and 200-meter hurdles, respectively. The 4x400-meter relay team, including Zaitzew, Nadine Gabriel, Emily Adorno and Stitt, also took first.

Second-place finishers for Glenwood were Lexus Willis in the 100-meter dash, Stitt in the 400-meter dash and Zaitzew in the 800-meter run. The 4x100 relay team, including Willis, Ashley Clark and Skylar Bryant, and the 4x200-meter relay team of Willis, Aniyuh White, D’Eramo and Bryant also took second.

BGMS boys lose to Howland

The Boardman Glenwood Middle School boys track team took third in the triangular meet against Center and Howland. Top performer for Glenwood was Richard Fisher, placing first in the high jump and second in the long jump. The 4x100-meter relay team of Arron Closson, Ethan Himes, Matt Hillard and Noah Falletti took second, as well as the 4x200-meter relay team of Pierre Grizzard, Himes, Hillard and Falletti.

Benefit golf outing set

The Brett Wilcox benefit golf outing will be July 21 at Lakeside Golf Course. Shot gun start will begin at 9 a.m. The cost is $65 per golfer or $250 for a foursome. Cost includes coffee and doughnuts at registration, lunch, dinner and drinks. Sponsorships are available for $100 for a hole sponsor or $350 for a gold sponsor.

First place will receive $400 and second place $200. In addition, there will be a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle and a 50-inch TV raffle.
