Struthers AMVETS Post 44 competes in Home Depot contest

AMVETS Post 44, winner last fall of $25,000 in the Home Depot Foundation’s Facebook contest, Aprons in Action, is competing this month with 10 other nonprofit finalists across the country for the $250,000 grand prize. Organizations with the second and third most votes will receive $150,000 and $100,000, respectively.

Voting began at 9 a.m. today Eastern Standard Time (EST) and runs through 11:59 May 31 EST on The Home Depot Foundation’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/homedepotfoundation. Click on Aprons in Action. Voting is available on computers and mobile device web browsers. Results of the contest will be posted on The Home Depot and The Home Depot Foundation’s Facebook pages at 9 a.m. EST on June 1.

AMVETS Post 44’s Career Center is open to all veterans, whether they are members of AMVETS or not. “We encourage everyone to go on Facebook and vote for us,” said Post 44 Commander Jan Brown.
