A Hubbard man was charged with aggravated menacing, accused of charging another man with a pipe wrench, threatening to hurt him.

A 25-year-old Hubbard man called police at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and reported that a truck was following the van he was driving and trying to run him off of the road. The caller’s 3-year-old daughter was in the van with him.

The man said he was traveling into the downtown area and officers responded and pulled over the truck. When they did, Walter S. Spincic, 62, got out of the truck with a pipe wrench and ran toward the other driver, shouting that he was going to hurt him, according to a police report.

Police yelled at Spincic to stop, took away the wrench and arrested him on the aggravated menacing charge.

The van driver told police he was traveling on Youngstown-Hubbard Road in Hubbard when Spincic began following him. When they traveled on to Jacobs Road into Youngstown, the truck tried to run him off of the road.
