Deadbeat Poets to play at Cedars

Something unexpected this way comes.

That’s exactly how the Deadbeat Poets members — singer-guitarist Terry Hartman (Backdoor Men, Napoleon In Rags, Terry & The Tornadoes), singer-bassist Frank Secich (Blue Ash, Club Wow, Stiv Bators Band), guitarist-singer Pete Drivere (Infidels, Pretty Demons) and drummer John Koury (Infidels, Slackjaw) — joined forces exactly one year ago.

“Frank, John and myself were doing a Paul Revere and the Raiders song in my studio [Ampreon Recorder] in early 2005 for a Bomp Records tribute album,” Drivere said. “And out of that, Frank wanted to get a band going. John and I were takers on the offer. Then we called Terry up, and the band fell together that way.”

The band will perform Friday at Cedars Lounge.
