Rondinelli captures Mantle tournament


STRUTHERS — Rondinelli Tuxedo scored six times in the bottom of the fourth inning in defeating Diamond Boys, 17-9, Tuesday in the Mickey Mantle Championship game at Cene Park.

Jason Bagoly led the winners with three hits, one a two-run home run. He also contributed six RBIs.

Nick DiNello added three hits and three RBIs. Corey Hill, Kevin McCulloh and Brad Byers added two safties.

Jaymee Shepard went three innings in relief for the win as he allowed two runs on just one hit with four strikeouts.

James Toland had three hits and drove in five runs for the Diamond Boys.

In the loser’s bracket finale, Drew Fitzpatrick, Hill, Byers and Dinello each had a pair of hits for the winners.

The offense for Astro was led by the starting pitcher Todd Kibby who had two doubles in two straight plate appearances.

Also having two hits for were Shane Wagner, Jared Kirin and Bryan Visingardi.
