Conduct-code panel includes Judge Durkin

COLUMBUS — Judge John M. Durkin of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court has been appointed to the 17-member Task Force on the Code of Judicial Conduct.

Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer of the Ohio Supreme Court appointed Judge Durkin to the panel, which will revise rules governing the conduct of Ohio judges. The task force, headed by retired Appellate Judge Thomas Bryant of Findlay, will review the code, which was last updated in 1997, accept public comment and recommend a new code based on additions and revisions to the American Bar Association’s Model Code of Judicial Conduct.

The Ohio panel consists of nine judges and seven lawyers from around the state and one nonlawyer.
