Austintown hires new athletic director

AUSTINTOWN — The school board voted to hire a new athletic director at its meeting tonight

Robert Conklin, who lives in Boardman, begins Aug. 1 under a one-year contract at a salary of $64,400. He comes from the Ashtabula Area City School District, where he was athletic director.

Before that, he served as athletic director at Struthers, where he also coached. Conklin replaced Joe Nohra, who took a position as assistant principal at Fitch High School.
