Simon Roofing edges Falcons to even series


STRUTHERS — Anthony Ragozine went the distance, allowing just one earned run while walking three and striking out two, to pitch Simon Roofing to a 6-5 win over Astro Falcons on Thursday night at Cene Park that evened their Class B playoff series at one game apiece.

Simon scored four runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-0 lead before Astro tallied five in the top of the sixth.

Mark Novotny and Mike Barone each had two hits to lead Simon, which won despite committing six errors.

Mike Dota and Joe Koch each had two hits for Astro, which had three errors.
