Discussion to target fighting genocide



YOUNGSTOWN -- There will be a panel discussion on how to take a stand against genocide at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Ohio Room, Kilcawley Center, Youngstown State University.
The panelists are Mickey Bergman, director of Congressional Relations and Senior Policy Analyst for the Center for Middle East Peace & amp; Economic Cooperation, who recently traveled with New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson on a mission to Sudan to broker a cease-fire agreement in Darfur; Jesse McClain, Mandel Fellow-U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Ohio Council on Holocaust Education, YSU Judaic and Holocaust Studies Committee; and Jessica Morales, Mid-Atlantic Regional Outreach Coordinator for STAND (Student Anti-Genocide coalition), a student at Rosemont College, Rosemont, Pa.
The discussion will center on the importance of genocide education and the grass-roots advocacy opportunities available. The panel discussion is free and open to the public.
