XYOUNGSTOWN -- Sarah Joy Medvec and Terry McDermott, both of Gahanna, were united in marriage by the Rev. Peter Lawson during a 3:30 p.m. ceremony Aug. 12 at Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church.
After a reception at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman, the couple left on a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico. They live at 3919 Brant Road, Columbus.
Parents of the bride are Michael and Chris Medvec, 2174 Manor Ave., Poland, and the groom's parents are Patrick and Ruth Ann McDermott, 822 Helenhurst Court, Westerville.
Designed with a fan back train and corset lace-up back, the bride's strapless diamond white A-line gown was embellished with crystals.
Celadon-colored gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Liz Hether, and the bridesmaids, Lindsay Brown, Mary Beth Bundy, Megan Wallace, Heather Hrina, Stacey Lefevre and Bethany Rouan. Flower girl was Kaitlyn Moroney.
Sean Flynn was best man, and groomsmen were Sean McDermott, Ryan McDermott, Michael Medvec, Matthew Medvec, Mark Lefevre and Chad Carr. Junior groomsman was Conner Moroney.
Mrs. McDermott, a medical coder with Dr. Wesley Harnish in Westerville, graduated from Bryman Institute in Columbus.
Mr. McDermott served as a corporal with the 82nd Airborne Paratrooper Division of the U.S. Army and is pursuing an intervention specialist degree in education at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus.
