PATRIOT DAY Ohio Sept. 11 observance

GOV. BOB TAFT has ordered all flags on state-owned property to fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Monday as an expression of remembrance and patriotism.
"OUR PRAYERS and heartfelt condolences are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives as a result of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks," Taft said. "I ask Ohioans to pause and reflect at 8:46 a.m. on the 11th to remember the tragic loss that we suffered five years ago."
IN DECEMBER 2001, Congress designated Sept. 11 of each year as Patriot Day.
