YOUNGSTOWN Jewish film festival in September will feature 3 documentaries

This year's festival will also feature a film competition.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The fourth annual Youngstown Area Jewish Film Festival will be Sept. 11-17 with screenings at various locations.
This year's festival features three documentaries -- "The Ritchie Boys," "The Protocols of Zion," and "Paper Clips" and one Israeli feature film, "Ushpizin," during the Jewish Cultural Week.
The festival opens with "The Richie Boys" at 7 p.m. Sept. 12 at Austintown Cinema. The festival continues at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 with "The Protocols of Zion" at Beeghly Education Building on YSU's campus, followed by a panel discussion led by Bonnie Deutsch Burdman.
A double feature will be Sept. 17 with "Paper Clips" at 1 p.m. and "Ushpizin" at 4 p.m., which will conclude the festival.
The Judaic Holocaust Program Committee at Youngstown State University's history department and the members of the newly formed Jewish Community Coalition are co-sponsoring the event.
Tickets are on sale at the JCC bursar's office for $4; they will be $5 at the door.
A film competition has been added to this year's festival. Chaired by Dr. Helene Sinnreich, a professor of history at YSU, the competition offers a chance for audiences to see cutting-edge Jewish films. The screenings are free and open to the public.
