Retired auxiliary bishop to lead White Mass

YOUNGSTOWN -- The 10th annual White Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 12 at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St., with Most Rev. Benedict C. Franzetta, retired auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Youngstown, as principal celebrant.
A White Mass is the customary description for a liturgy for health-care workers. The Lourdes Guild, the Catholic medical association in the diocese, is the sponsor. Currently, about 60 Catholic physicians and dentists are members.
A brunch reception will follow. Reservations are required and may be made by contacting the diocese at (330) 744-8451, Ext. 252, by Feb. 6.
All medical personnel and health care workers in the diocese may attend along with priests and other religious in the health care ministry. The Feb. 12 event is being held in conju3nction with the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, which is celebrated Feb. 11.
