CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS
"Kid's Korner: V is for Valentine." Stories, crafts and games for children ages 2-6 at West, 10:30 a.m. Feb. 8. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments provided by Friends of the Library.
"Counting Kisses Contest." Guess how many Hershey Kisses in the jar -- closest guess wins the chocolate for grades K-6 at Austintown, Feb. 1-28; and for children in grades 0-6 at Lake Milton, Feb. 6-27; and North Jackson, Feb. 7-28; during library hours.
"Happy Hearts." Holiday stories and crafts for children ages 3-6 at Brownlee Woods, Feb. 10; and Struthers, Feb. 8. Both programs begin at 10 a.m. Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library.

"Celebrate the Arts." Artwork by Boardman area students in grades K-6 at a reception with musical interludes and refreshments at Boardman, 6:30-8 p.m. Feb. 13. Artwork on display until Feb. 20.
"Be a Part of the Underground Railroad." Make a Freedom Quilt for grades K-6 at East, Feb. 20-24; South, Feb. 6-11; and West, Feb. 14-18. During library hours. The finished quilt will be displayed in the library.

"Celebrity Pajama Jam: Sleepy Time Fun for the Whole Family." February's celebrity: Mr. Masucci, principal, Poland North Elementary School will read bedtime stories at Poland, 7-7:30 p.m. Feb. 27. Wear your p.j.'s.

TEENXTREME PROGRAMS
"Presidential Search." Fill in the blocks of the puzzle to find all forty-two presidents' names. We've given you several to start with. You could win a prize for grades 7-12 at Main Library, Austintown, Canfield, and Sebring.
"Mardi Gras." Celebrate New Orleans and join us for a Mardi Gras celebration. Make a mask, grab some beads and win a prize if you find the baby in the King Cake for grades 7-12 at Poland, 4 p.m. Feb. 28.
"The Ring's the Thing." Nothing says "Be My Valentine" like a ring and now you can make a special one for your sweetie -- or for yourself -- for grades 7-12 at Brownlee Woods, Feb. 8; Campbell, Feb. 14; and Struthers, Feb. 6. All start at 5 p.m.
"Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler! (Let the Good Times Roll)." Celebrate Mardi Gras at the library. Make a mask, have some king cake and toss some beads for grades 7-12 at South, Feb. 27; and West, Feb. 28. Both events begin at 4:30 p.m. Prizes for the best masks!
ADULT PROGRAMS
"YSU Community Diversity Book Discussion." Presented by Dr. Dolores Sisco, assistant professor of English at YSU. She will be discussing the book "Sport of the Gods" by Paul Lawrence Dunbar at Main Library, 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23. The focus will be on the socio-economic plight of African Americans in the South during the late 19th century.
"Grant Center: Grantseeking Basics." Orientation to funding research process and Grant Center Collection. Intended for representatives new to the process and who want to know more about our resources or those requiring a refresher at Main Library, 6:30 p.m. Feb. 15. "CSI-Y'town." Fun for mystery fans -- readers, writers and mystery movie and TV buffs at Austintown, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 21. Guest speaker is Dennis McCallister, a retired ATF agent living in the Youngstown area who will talk about his fascinating career. Meetings third Tuesday of the month at various branch libraries.
"Lunch & amp; Learn at the Library: Dave's Antiques and Collectibles." Presenter: David Dangerfield, professional auctioneer licensed by the state of Ohio. Dave and his wife Stephanie are owners of Dangerfield Auctions in Youngstown, a full-time auction service specializing in estate liquidations as well as antique art and specialty collections. "The Warren Camera Club's International Color Slide Competition." "The Life of Frederick Douglass." Join Trumbull County Historian Wendell Lauth for a lecture at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9 about the amazing life of Frederick Douglass in honor of Black History Month. Learn about Douglass's escape from slavery to New York City in 1838; his emergence as a leader of the abolitionist movement; his career as a lecturer and author; and even his visit to Warren, Ohio. "A Visit With Harriet Tubman." At 2 p.m. Feb. 11, ages 8 and up. In honor of Black History Month, Women in History presenter Demetrius Falconer will portray Harriet Tubman and discuss her story, including Tubman's time as a slave and how she played a major role in the Underground Railroad. "Paul Laurence Dunbar: The Eyes of the Poet." At 6:30 p.m. Feb. 21, join Dr. Herbert W. Martin, Ohio Humanities Scholar, as he portrays Paul Laurence Dunbar. February 2006 marks the 100th anniversary of Dunbar's death. A descendent of slaves, Dunbar was an African-American writer and poet. Through dramatic readings from Dunbar's works, Dr. Martin brings to life the passion, drama, humor and humanity in Dunbar's dialect and Standard English poems.
