Cabaret owner charged
YOUNGSTOWN -- Police charged the owner and a dancer at the New Affair Adult Cabaret at 1418 E. Midlothian Blvd. on the city's South Side with misdemeanor offenses. Police said dancer Jackie Hunter, 28, and Clifford White, 32, New Affair owner, were operating a cabaret without a license and violating a 6-foot spacing requirement, both first-degree misdemeanors. Vice officers responded to the cabaret around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and found Hunter dancing right next to a male customer. Officers said city ordinance requires that employees stay at least 6 feet from customers when dancing. White told police he did not pay the $500 required for a permit to operate a cabaret, and was unaware of the spacing requirement. Vice officers said, however, that they provided White with copies of the city ordinances several months ago.
