Jan. 18
Assault: A Youngstown-Poland man told police that while at a residence in the 400 block of South Main Street, an 18-year-old man slapped and punched the victim in the face and threatened to kill him. The man had swelling on his lower lip.

Jan. 17
Criminal damaging: A Boardman man discovered a tire on his vehicle was slashed while he was at Boardman Fire Department Station No. 1, 136 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: Police arrested a 24-year-old Warren man on charges of theft and possession of criminal tools. He was accused of stealing numerous DVDs from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive, and concealing them in aluminum foil to avoid detection.
Misuse of a credit card: A woman reported her debit card had been stolen in Liberty and was used without permission at various Boardman businesses.
Fraud: An Amberwood Trail woman told police that someone asked for her bank account information during a scam at her home.
Identity fraud: A Palo Verde Drive woman discovered someone used her Social Security number and address to secure a debt on a credit card.
Arrest: After responding to assist Boardman firefighters at a group home in the 7600 block of South Avenue, police arrested a 54-year-old Youngstown woman and charged her with one count of aggravated arson. She was accused of starting a fire in a trash can.
Theft: A Youngstown woman, 18, faced a theft charge after various items were stolen from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road.
Criminal damage damaging: A Youngstown woman found a passenger-side window on her vehicle smashed while in the 700 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.
Arrest: Police picked up a 47-year-old Boardman man after learning he was wanted on a felony warrant from Boardman. He was charged with two counts of theft from the elderly.
Arrest: After responding to an alarm at a Boardman business, officers took a Cleveland man, 52, into custody when they found out he was wanted on a warrant from Medina County charging him with failure to pay child support.

Theft by deception: An employee at Taco Bell, 458 Boardman-Canfield Road, told police a customer scammed the business from the drive-through on three occasions. Monetary loss was undetermined.
Theft: A worker at Party Max, 445 Boardman-Poland Road, reported that a table and folding chairs were never returned.
Theft: A motorist left a Shell station, 7598 Market St., without paying for gasoline.
Theft: Police apprehended a 34-year-old Youngstown woman at Cochran's Sparkle Market, 4121 South Ave., on charges of theft and obstructing official business after candy bars had been stolen. She also was wanted on a warrant accusing her of failing to appear in court on three counts of theft.
Burglary: A woman discovered someone broke into her Erskine Avenue apartment.
Arrest: While investigating a suspicious person in the Cochran's Sparkle Market parking lot, officers took into custody a 44-year-old Youngstown man. He was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing official business after police say he provided false information and fled.
Criminal damage damaging: A man in the 6400 block of Tara Drive discovered damage to his car.
Arrest: A Boardman girl, 16, was arrested and taken to the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center, Youngstown after her vehicle was stopped. She was charged with probation violation.

Deception: A Spring Park Drive couple reported being scammed out of $6,000 over the Internet.
Theft: Someone stole mail from St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave.
Counterfeit: A counterfeit bill was passed at Wal-Mart.
Theft: A Boardman man discovered items missing from his car after he left Cinemark Movies 8, 469 Boardman-Poland Road.
Jan. 20
Recovered property: A man in the 100 block of Shields Road recovered his minivan after someone took it without permission.
Possible theft: An employee at Stadium Lincoln Mercury Mazda Inc., 238 Boardman-Poland Road, reported a license plate registered to the dealership was lost or stolen.
Arrest: A Youngstown man, 31, was arrested near Glenwood Avenue and Green Bay Drive and charged with obstructing official business. Police say he intentionally provided misleading information.
Theft: A man discovered a rifle and a bracket stolen from his residence in the 800 block of Indianola Road.
Arrest: Police apprehended a 26-year-old Los Angeles man at the Southern Park Mall after finding out he was wanted on warrants from Mahoning and Portage counties.
Criminal damaging: A Boardman man left the Southern Park Mall and noticed someone had used a key to damage his car's finish.
Drugs: After pulling over a vehicle near Hudson Avenue, officers charged a 37-year-old Youngstown woman with one count of drug abuse.
Thefts: In unrelated cases, police arrested a Youngstown boy and a Struthers girl, both 14, and charged each with theft after items were stolen at Wal-Mart and Burlington Coat Factory, 592 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Drugs: After stopping a car on Market Street, officers arrested a North Lima woman, 25, on a charge of possession of marijuana.
Jan. 21
Drugs: Police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol arrested a man, 21, and a woman, 23, both from Youngstown, at Cinema South Inc., 7420 South Ave. The man faced one felony and one misdemeanor count of possession of drugs as well as a felony charge of drug trafficking; the woman was charged with one felony count of trafficking in drugs (marijuana) after officers say they found suspected drugs in the car.
Theft: A Boardman woman discovered her vehicle's rear license plate missing while at The Donnell Auto Group, 7955 Market St.
Attempted theft/criminal mischief: A man in the 4200 block of Milltrace Road told police he thinks someone cut a piece of garden hose and tried to remove gasoline from a car in his driveway.
Auto theft: A woman in the 700 block of Beech Avenue reported someone stole her vehicle along with a cellular phone and purse.
Assault: A Youngstown woman reported her 14-year-old daughter was assaulted at Cinemark Movies 8.
Arrest: Austintown police turned a 20-year-old Youngstown woman over to Boardman authorities. She was wanted on felony warrants from Boardman charging her with three counts each of forgery and receiving stolen property.
Drugs: During a traffic stop, police arrested a Girard man, 31, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension. Officers say the man had a suspected crack pipe in his sock.
