LaBrae upends Liberty

LABRAE -- LaBrae's Angelica Pugh scored 13 points to lead three players in double figures as the Vikings upset Liberty 50-46 in a Trumbull Athletic Conference girls basketball game on Monday.
Jalisa Elkins had 11 points and Lindsey Higgins had 10 for LaBrae (6-7, 2-6), which lost to the Leopards 59-28 on Dec. 12.
Michelle Dykes scored 19 for Liberty (10-4, 6-2), while Katrina Neskovia had 11.
Champion 47, Newton Falls 41
NEWTON FALLS -- Hillary Beachy scored 15 points and Jaclyn Carpenter added 13 points for Champion, which outscored Newton Falls 22-18 in the fourth quarter.
Elizabeth Ghindia added 12 points for the Flashes (8-5, 6-3).
Emily Montgomery scored 13 points and Kortni Collins added 10 for Newton Falls (3-10, 1-7).
Lakeview 66, Hubbard 48
HUBBARD -- Alynn Martin scored 10 of her 16 points in a 24-point third quarter as the Bulldogs (9-3, 6-1) took a 50-34 lead.
Chelsea Butler scored nine of her 12 points in the first quarter, Joanna Novotny scored 12 second half points and Jen Baker added 10 for the Bulldogs.
Sheila Drummond scored 20 points for the Eagles (4-8, 3-5) while Corrie Gasser had 10.
Brookfield 53, Girard 27
GIRARD -- The Warriors (11-3, 6-2) jumped out to a 17-8 first-quarter lead en route to the 26-point victory.
Morgan Bonekovic had 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Andrea Gladis added 13 points and Kelly Jones had 12 points and five assists.
East Liverpool 51,Cardinal Mooney 45
EAST LIVERPOOL -- East Liverpool's Kat Ammon made eight of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter as the Potters rallied from a 33-29 deficit in the final eight minutes.
Ammon scored 12 of her 16 points in the fourth. Marissa Yeager added 14 points and Cierra Moxley had 10.
Sarah Pelini and Dayna Daltorio had 11 points apiece for Mooney (5-7).
Ashtabula Lakeside 41,Warren Harding 30
ASHTABULA -- Lakeside (5-8) limited Harding to 20 points through three quarters and held on for the victory.
Jahmarra Warfield led the Raiders (3-10) with 12 points.
Canfield 66, Niles 20
CANFIELD -- Bryanne Halfhill and Kate Popovec each scored 17 points and Natalie Fox added 16 -- hitting four 3-pointers in the process -- as Canfield (10-4, 5-0) stayed unbeaten in the Metro Athletic Conference.
Nina Gabrelcik scored 12 for the Red Dragons (5-8, 1-4).
South Range 63,Western Reserve 43
NORTH LIMA -- Cindy Schuler had 19 points, 10 rebounds and five steals for the Raiders (9-4, 6-1), who outscored the Blue Devils 40-16 in the second half. Autumn Carter added 17 points, Heather Stacy had 10 and Kelcie Whitmer had nine assists and four steals.
MeKenzie Mowery paced the Blue Devils with 13 points. Alex Rathburn added 10.
Mineral Ridge 53,Jackson-Milton 50
MINERAL RIDGE -- Abbey Kiger made a layup with less then a minute to lift the Rams. Rachael Siler paced Ridge (4-9, 1-6) with 16 points. Kiger finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Carrie Fiol led the Bluejays with 19 points. Elizabeth Hughes added 15 and Jessica Balent had 10.
Springfield 58, Sebring 44
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Springfield senior Christy Warren had 16 points and five steals and Joanna Dick added 15 points and six rebounds for Springfield (7-5, 5-2), which overcome a slow start in an Inter-County League game.
Sebring's Ashley Amabeli had 13 of her game-high 21 points by halftime.
Columbiana 70, Wellsville 52
COLUMBIANA -- Sophomore Katie Douglas, a 6-1 center, scored a career-high 31 points to lead Columbiana in a Tri-County League game.
The Clippers (12-2, 7-1) have won 10 straight. Douglas also had 13 rebounds and five blocks. Krista Johnson chipped in with 13 points and 13 assists. Colleen Eisenbraun finished with 11 points.
Jasmine Richardson led Wellsville with 19 points.
Sharon 62, Wilmington 47
SHARON -- Brittany Csatlos scored 17 points, Janine McDonald 16 and Cara Dolci 15 to lead Sharon (17-1, 10-0), which stayed undefeated in District 10 Region I Class AA.
Liz DeMedal had 16 points and seven rebounds to lead Wilmington (13-4, 6-3 District 10).
