Girard driver killed after car hits tree



GIRARD -- A 23-year-old city man died after he crashed his car into a tree.
Police said Matthew Klink, 284 Louis Ave., was speeding when he hit the tree in the 2 a.m. accident Saturday. The crash happened on Elruth Street between East Wilson and Mosier roads. Klink was trapped in the car and had to be extracted, police said.
Police said emergency workers were going to airlift Klink to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, but he went into cardiac arrest. They took him by ambulance, and he was pronounced dead.
Police said they are waiting for a toxicology report from the coroner's office.
