Beeghly re-elected secretary of Board of Regents



YOUNGSTOWN -- Bruce R. Beeghly of Youngstown was re-elected secretary of the Ohio Board of Regents at a meeting last week at Capital University, Columbus.
Beeghly, appointed to the board in 2002, is president of Altronic Inc., a designer and manufacturer of electronic products sold worldwide.
Other members of the board's leadership were also retained, including Atty. Edmund J. Adams of Cincinnati as chairman and Donna M. Alvarado of Granville as vice chairwoman.
Beeghly was elected to two terms on the Liberty Board of Education and served nine years on the board of trustees of Youngstown State University, acting as chairman in 1998-2000. He is a past trustee of the Youngstown State University Foundation and also served as a member of the Ohio Board of Regents' Higher Education Funding Commission.
Beeghly received his bachelor's degree in engineering from California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, Calif.
Adams was appointed to the board in 1999 and served as vice chairman in 2003 and 2004.
Alvarado was appointed to the board in 2002 and serves as president of Aguila International, a consulting firm whose practice provides a consortium for businesses and nonprofit organizations seeking to collaborate on public policy issues of mutual interest.
The Ohio Board of Regents is the coordinating body for higher education in the state.
