Tow motor backs over, injures worker

SALEM -- A worker was injured when a tow motor backed over him about 10:55 a.m. Wednesday at Quaker Manufacturing Corp., 187 Georgetown Road.
Perry Township Fire Chief Al Hofmann said the man did not appear to be seriously injured. Another tow motor was used to lift the first one off the man.
Hofmann declined to identify the worker, saying the man did not want his name to be released because of a family member's illness.
A woman who answered the phone at the company said the company had no statement about the matter.
The Salem Fire Department initially responded to the call initially even though the company is in Perry Township, which has a volunteer fire department. The city fire department said it could not release the injured man's name under state laws designed to protect patients.
