Suggestions for a fashionable winter

Q. I bought winter white tuxedo pants. I wasn't sure if there are any rules about wearing thin material pants during the winter
A. Just make sure that what lies beneath is known only to you! Wear flesh-toned (not white) underpants.
Q.Can I wear black heels with a brown skirt and top? I'd hate to buy shoes for just one night, but don't want to look stupid if my shoes don't go with my outfit.
A. Yes. I think rules about matching were made to be broken. Still, just to show that you didn't get dressed in the dark, you might consider finishing off your look with a piece of jewelry that incorporates both brown and black.
Q. What's in for bling this season? I want to dress up a silky halter and a basic black dress. Are chandelier earrings still in? Something else?
A. Chandelier earrings always look great, particularly if you're wearing your hair up. I also love fabric-covered pearls and elaborately jeweled bracelets, such as those by Kenneth Jay Lane.
Q.One male colleague says button-down collared shirts and pleated khakis are both perfectly acceptable men's classics. Another colleague (female) says button-down collars are far too informal for any serious man over the age of 25 to wear in any work setting, casual or otherwise, and that pleated trousers of any type should never be worn at any times because they flatter no one. Who's right?
A. I'm not a huge fan of pleated khakis -- they're just not very flattering. Flat-fronts are a better, more modern, option. Button-down collared shirts, though, are more than acceptable.
