Anniversary celebrated by the Beardsleys



XCANFIELD -- A private reception to honor Mr. and Mrs. John Beardsley, 361 Callahan Road, on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary was held Dec. 31 at Canfield Presbyterian Church, where the couple are members.
Hosts for the celebration were Mrs. Beardsley and the couple's sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Sandra Beardsley of Shoreview, Minn., and Stephen and Karen Beardsley of Wheaton, Ill. Their six grandchildren assisted.
The former Naomi Krumheuer and Mr. Beardsley were married Dec. 31, 1955, at Fort Atkinson, Wis. They renewed their nuptial vows in 1980 at Old North Church in Canfield.
Mrs. Beardsley was a teacher in elementary schools in California, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Ohio, and retired this past year from Youngstown Christian School. She has given swimming lessons at their home for 28 years and is a member of the Red Hat Society.
Mr. Beardsley retired in 1995 as a project engineer with Oakes and Burger in Niles, and is a member of Canfield Community Club.
Mr. and Mrs. Beardsley are members of the Seraphim Chorus at their church, the Dulci-More of Salem, Canfield Historical Society and Community Bible Studies. Each winter they spend three months in Costa Rico, where they train Bible teachers.
