Mass for life
YOUNGSTOWN -- The eighth annual Mass for Life is planned for noon next Saturday at St. Dominic Church, 77 E. Lucius Ave., with Msgr. Robert J. Siffrin, diocesan administrator, as the main celebrant and homilist. Before the Mass, a prayer vigil will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Market Street. At St. Dominic Parish Center, Knights of Columbus will provide coffee and doughnuts after the prayer vigil and a free spaghetti dinner after the service.
Jesus party planned
EAST FAIRFIELD -- A Jesus party is planned from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at East Fairfield United Methodist Church. The parties, held the third Friday of the month at the church, give families with special needs children a chance to have a fun night out and meet other families with similar needs. The event will begin with dinner at 6, followed by a short nondenominational service. Games and other activities will follow. Sanctity of life concert
WARREN -- New Life Maternity Home, 3653 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will sponsor the third annual sanctity of life celebration concert at 7 p.m. Friday at North-Mar Church, 3855 E. Market St., Warren. Performers will be Tia Ciferno, Christylee Roose, Leavittsburg Church of God sanctuary choir, Voices of Joy ladies ensemble of Rising Star Baptist Church, Youngstown. The event is free.
Health ministry program
MINERAL RIDGE -- The First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge, 3654 Main St., will have a "Nurse Chat" at noon Sunday in the church lounge. The Health Ministries will sponsor this program on sleep disorders. A light lunch will be served before the session; call the church, (330) 652-5712, for reservations.
Bible study sessions
AUSTINTOWN -- An ongoing community Bible study, an interdenominational session, is planned from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. Thursdays, at Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Raccoon Road. Sessions, which will conclude May 11, will begin with the Book of Hebrews. A preschool through home school-aged children's program is available and includes crafts, music and Bible study . Bible program
STRUTHERS -- Fellowship Bible Reading Center, 115 Frank St., will have programs on the Bible at 7 p.m. Fridays. Participants will follow the Bible on a DVD.
Guest performers
LIBERTY -- The Word and Music Ministry will host guest performers, A Couple of Blessings, at a service planned for 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Presbyterian Church, corner of Church Hill-Hubbard Road and Logan Avenue. The husband-and-wife duo of Gilbert and Melena Velez, members of Corner Church in Campbell, will perform rap and hip-hop songs.
Winter revival
FARRELL, Pa. -- New and Living Way, 927 Lee Ave., will have its annual revival at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 23-27. Revivalist will be Elder Tyrone Steals of Ebenezer Church of God in Christ, New Castle, Pa. Musical guests will be area choirs and soloists.

Mom's day of prayer

NEW WATERFORD -- A concert featuring songwriter Gordon Jensen and special healing service are planned Sunday at Abundant Life Fellowship, 46469 state Route 46. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the program at 7.
Guarendi to speak
YOUNGSTOWN -- Dr. Ray Guarendi, nationally known family psychologist, will speak at noon Sunday at St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill. His topic will be "Families: Then and Now."
Programs at church
WARREN -- Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., will resume its midweek program Thursday with sessions running every Thursday through March 30. Each program starts with a meal at 5:45 p.m., for which the charge is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Four free adult classes then begin at 6:30 p.m.: The History of American Slavery; Knowing God through the Psalms; Microsoft Word Simplified for Beginners; and a discussion group concerning The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. During the program, there will be activities for children and youth and a nursery for children under 4.
Interfaith Shabbat
AKRON -- Temple Israel, 133 Merriman Road, invites congregations within a 50-mile radius to participate in Sabbath services at which a question-and-answer period is substituted for the sermon. The Interfaith Shabbat is planned for 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27.
