Cowher to offer condolences to Dungy

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher plans to talk on the field Sunday with Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy to express his condolences on the recent death of Dungy's 18-year-old son.
Cowher and Dungy coached together with the Kansas City Chiefs, and Cowher said he has a great deal of respect for Dungy and his wife, Lauren.
"My heart and prayers have always gone out to him and Lauren and their family," Cowher said Tuesday. "They'll get through it. Tony's a strong guy."
James Dungy died of an apparent suicide on Dec. 22.
Cowher said it is unfortunate Dungy's profession requires him to be a public figure during such a personal tragedy.
"No one has handled it more inspirationally than Tony and his wife," Cowher said. "That's the unfortunate part of our profession, that we live in a fishbowl and we have to experience that with the rest of America.
"Sometimes those are things you'd just like to share with those you are very close to, but Tony has found out that he's very close to a lot of us."
