Niles beats Canfield on final shot



Sean Cleary hit the game-winner with 3-seconds left in the 49-46 win.
NILES -- Sean Cleary plugged a 3-point goal with three seconds remaining to snap a 46-46 tie and give the Niles High basketball team a 49-46 win over Canfield Friday in a Metro Athletic Conference game.
Cleary and Justin Allen scored 14 points each to lead Niles (6-3, 1-0).
Giapreet Singh had 13 points and Sean Baker 11 to lead Canfield.
Campbell 69, Poland 47
CAMPBELL -- The Bulldogs (4-3) jumped out to a 10-1 lead before Red Devils (10-1) closed to 20-12 after one quarter.
The Red Devils used a 22-4 second quarter paced by eight points by Jermaine Richardson and seven by Trey Soares for the 34-24 lead at the break.
Terrance Phillips scored 15 of his 19 points after the break, including making 5 of 6 at the line in the fourth quarter.
For Poland, Lou Coppola had a seven-point first quarter and Lovell had four 3-pointers in the fourth. Coppola also pulled down seven rebounds and blocked four shots
Phillips led Campbell with eight caroms.
McDonald 75, South Range 43
McDONALD -- McDonald's Bradley Hinton had 19 points and Corey Vukovic made four 3-pointers to finish with 18 points to lead the Blue Devils, who outscored the Raiders 25-12 in the second quarter to take control in an Inter-County League game.
Steve Hughes and Andy Timko each added 15 points for McDonald (5-2, 2-1).
Josh Less had nine points for the Raiders (1-4, 0-3).
Sebring 60, Jackson-Milton 32
NORTH JACKSON -- Jesse James scored 16 points Friday as the Sebring High basketball team cruised past Jackson-Milton, 60-32.
Jon Springer scored 14 points and Zach Tieche 11 for the Trojans in the ICL game.
For the Bluejays (1-7, 0-2), Matt Shields scored 10 points and Josh Barringer pulled down 10 rebounds.
Springfield 85, Lowellville 58
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Zack Dejane collected 22 points, eight rebounds, five steals and two assists to lead the Tigers (5-2, 3-0 ICL).
Andrew Schuler added 19 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers.
Lowellville (3-4, 1-2) was out-rebounded, 32-12.
