"The Book of Daniel" (9 p.m., NBC): In the new drama series, "The Book of Daniel," Aidan Quinn stars as an Episcopal minister whose faith -- and patience -- are tested by his severely dysfunctional family. No wonder he's constantly talking to Jesus and popping Vicodin. Solid performances from Quinn and veterans Susanna Thompson and Ellen Burstyn only partially make up for the overwrought storytelling.
"Battlestar Galactica" (10 p.m., Sci-fi): Sci-fi fans have reason to celebrate as "Battlestar Galactica" returns immediately following the winter debuts of "Stargate-SG1" and "Stargate Atlantis." The critically acclaimed series picks up with the leaders of the Galactica and Pegasus battlestars putting their intense military conflict on hold to join forces against a critical Cylon target.
