Dec. 28
Theft: A 27-year-old Austintown woman surrendered to police and was charged with one felony count of theft. Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road, alleged an employee charged customers less than the listed price, and sometimes failed to charge, for some merchandise, resulting in a $559 loss.
Theft: A Lordstown man alleged a Boardman man defrauded the victim of $670 after the victim bought a used car.
Theft/misuse of a credit card: An employee at Kaufmann's in the Southern Park Mall reported her purse stolen from a desk, and that $500 worth of unauthorized charges were made to her credit cards.
Theft: A cellular phone was stolen from The Sprint Store, 430 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A woman in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court discovered the front license plate stolen off her vehicle.
Theft of services: Police alleged an employee at Astre Total Fitness Center, 374 Boardman-Poland Road, gave free membership to nonmembers without permission from the business.
Burglary/criminal damage: Someone broke a trailer window in the 4000 block of South Avenue before entering the structure.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A man in the 800 block of Moyer Avenue said his former girlfriend refused to return his 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Theft: A worker at Boston Market, 435 Boardman-Poland Road, called police after someone grabbed her cellular phone from a counter and fled.
Burglary: A woman returned from vacation to her Forest Hill Drive home and noticed it had been broken into after someone tossed a rock through a rear sliding-glass door. Two televisionTVs were missing.
Drugs: While investigating suspicious activity, Boardman police arrested a Cortland man, 38, and a Warren woman, 32. He faced charges of obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia; the woman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers say they found a suspected crack pipe.
Arrest: While responding to a domestic dispute, police turned a 21-year-old Boardman woman over to Columbiana County authorities after learning she was wanted on a warrant from that county charging her with passing bad checks.
Drugs: After being pulled over, a 50-year-old Boardman man was charged with drug possession (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence. Police say they found suspected marijuana and a suspected marijuana pipe, and that his blood alcohol count was 0.261.

Criminal damage: Three people in the 5900 block of Tippecanoe Road reported damage to their mailboxes.
Domestic violence: Police took a 28-year-old Boardman man into custody on a felony count of domestic violence. A Willow Drive woman alleged her boyfriend grabbed her by the throat and hair, pushed her against a wall and threw her to the ground during an argument.
Theft/criminal mischief: Four people in the 1900 block of Mathews Road found out their cars had been ransacked. Wallets and money were stolen.
Bad check: An employee at Rondinelli Tuxedo Rental, 845 Boardman-Poland Road, told police a customer presented a bad check to buy a tuxedo.
Misuse of a credit card: A Glen Park Road man found a $737.60 charge was made to his American Express bill for airline tickets he never bought.
Theft: Police charged a 13-year-old Youngstown boy with theft. He was accused of placing a wristwatch in his pocket at Sears in the Southern Park Mall and leaving without paying for it.
Vandalism: Someone damaged a newspaper box near a Shell station, 998 E. Western Reserve Road.
Breaking and entering: A man in the 300 block of Melrose Avenue discovered his garage had been broken into. Missing was $300 worth of tools.
Theft: Two $150 rocking chairs were removed from a front porch in the 1800 block of Woodlawn Avenue.
Theft: A 37-year-old Warren woman faced a felony charge of theft after $617 worth of clothing was stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.
Criminal damage: Someone did extensive damage to a clubhouse door at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.
Dec. 30
Bad checks: An employee at Sports & amp; Gifts in the Southern Park Mall reported accepting two checks totaling $144.42 returned on a closed account.
Domestic violence: A 28-year-old man was arrested at his Homestead Drive residence on a felony domestic-violence charge. His girlfriend alleged he smacked her in the head three times during an argument over a DVD and threatened her.
Theft: A neighbor called police after someone removed two chairs and a glass table from a front porch in the 700 block of Annawan Lane. The theft was about $300.
Theft: Several packages were taken off a delivery truck near Buffalo Wild Wings in the Southern Park Mall.
Criminal mischief: A woman in the 4000 block of Stratford Road noticed damage to some Christmas lawn decorations.
Theft: A Youngstown man, 32, and a Warren man, 28, faced theft charges after being accused of taking two gift sets from Kaufmann's and trying to return them.
Theft by deception: A woman in the 4000 block of South Avenue told police a man claiming to be an oil company representative came to her home and said her account was delinquent, and that she wrote and later canceled a $25 check.
Theft: A man in the 30 block of Shadyside Drive reported the theft of two chairs and a table from his porch.
Theft: An employee at T.G.I. Friday's, 7165 Tiffany Blvd., reported $105 and a credit card missing from her car.
Theft: A Becky Court man alleged a girl staying with him stole $300, an Xbox game system and six Xbox games.
Drugs: During a traffic stop for an illegal turn, police arrested a Poland man, 21, on charges of possession of drugs (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia after saying they found suspected marijuana in the car, and that he admitted having a suspected marijuana pipe.
Vandalism: A man staying at the Microtel Inn, 7393 South Ave., reported all four tires on his vehicle were slashed.
Theft: A 36-year-old Austintown man was charged with felony theft after a Boardman victim said he had a contract with the suspect for the outside of the victim's business to be painted. Instead, supplies for the job were stolen and the work was never finished.
Arrest: While conducting an investigation at Salty Grogs, officers picked up a Lowellville man, 46, on charges of obstructing official business and disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
Dec. 31
Bad checks: A worker at Cigarette Express, 6008 South Ave., reported cashing two checks later discovered to be fraudulent.
Criminal damage: A woman in the 5700 block of Southern Boulevard told police someone tossed a rock through her car's window and a front porch window.
Criminal damage: A man in the 7500 block of Sugar Creek Drive discovered a broken vehicle window.
Possible theft: A Youngstown man reported his wallet lost or stolen while at the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: Police arrested a 21-year-old Columbus man on a theft charge after clothing was stolen from Value City Department Store, 1130 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A woman shopping at Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive, discovered her purse missing from a shopping cart. The purse was found, but money had been stolen.
Misuse of a credit card: A woman in the 200 block of Forest Park Drive told police someone made purchases using her Visa card without permission.
Criminal mischief: Someone reported that a tree was cut down on property owned by Wedgewood Pizza, 6200 South Ave.
Theft: Police charged a Struthers man, 20, with theft. He was accused of taking four bottles of alcohol from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.
Arrests: After police responded to the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave., to remove an unruly person, they arrested an Austintown man, 22, and a Canfield man, 19. The older man was charged with assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct/failure to desist, resisting arrest, obstructing official business and permitting alcohol to a minor; the younger man faced charges of disorderly conduct while intoxicated, obstructing official business and underage consumption of alcohol.
Assault: A 23-year-old Youngstown man faced one count of assault after another man reported being assaulted while with friends at Salty Grogs, 1203 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A Boardman man, 37, was picked up on a warrant charging him with theft after being accused of stealing meat products from Sam's Club, 6361 South Ave. He also was charged with resisting arrest.
Drugs: During a traffic stop, officers arrested a Youngstown man, 38, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, having an open container of alcohol and operating a vehicle under the influence. Police say they found a suspected crack pipe.
Arrest: A 52-year-old Boardman woman was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence. Police responded to a car accident in which a mailbox was run over.
