Springfield overwhelms Campbell, 62-26



NEW MIDDLETOWN -- The Springfield High girls basketball team built a 52-16 lead by the end of Tuesday's third quarter and cruised 62-26 past Campbell in a non-league game.
With 10 girls getting into the scoring column for the Tigers (3-4), Samantha Cavalier took honors with 24 points. Christy Warren added 11.
Dana Moore sparked Campbell with eight points.
McDonald 56, Mathews 44
McDONALD -- Sophomore Emily Dolsak had 18 points and 14 of her team's 33 rebounds to lead the Rob Hilbun-coached Blue Devils to their eighth straight win.
Ashleigh Tondo added 16 points and senior Amy Dolsak had 15.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Kara Cooper poured in a career-high 33 points as the Eagles (7-1) posted third second straight East Suburban League victory.
Danielle Pecchia added 15 points, grabbed 11 rebound and had 10 steals. Rachel Coristin scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Alissa Petrenko paced Lutheran East (6-5, 1-3) with 15 points.
Of McDonald's 14 steals, Tondo had five. Tondo also had six of her team's 18 assists while Emily Dolsak was credited with five assists.
Mathews led after one quarter, 15-10, before McDonald went ahead at halftime, 25-24. Emily Dolsak's 10 points helped the Blue Devils break the game open in the third quarter when she had 10 of her points.
Lauren Roscoe's 17 points paced Mathews.
