Most local governments change leadership positions and set their meeting dates at the beginning of the year. Here are results of reorganization meetings Tuesday:
MAHONING
North Lima: Beaver Township trustees named Larry Wehr chairman of the board and appointed Ron Kappler as vice chairman. Trustee meetings will be at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month.
TRUMBULL
Champion: The township trustees chose Jeffrey Hovanic as board chairman and Timothy Downs as vice chairman. The third trustee is Tom Tracey. Trustees will have their regular meetings the first Monday of each month with the exception of April, when the meeting will be April 10, and September, when the meetiing will be Sept. 11.
Cortland: City council selected Councilman Frank Stocz as council president and Councilman John Caparanis as vice president.
LAWRENCE
New Castle, Pa.: City council named Rob Ratkovich as council president. Ratkovich is in the third year of his first term on city council. Also, incumbent and former council president Christine Sands and new council member Chet Orell Jr. were sworn into office.
New Castle, Pa.: Union Township supervisors changed their regular meetings to 7 p.m. the third Thursday of the month.
