AROUND THE NHL Tuesday's other games

Lightning 1, Rangers 0, OT
NEW YORK -- Vaclav Prospal jammed the puck past Henrik Lundqvist at 3:47 of overtime, and John Grahame made 36 saves for his second shutout of the season in Tampa Bay victory over the Rangers. Prospal controlled the puck behind the net, skated to the edge of the crease and hammered the puck past Lundqvist on his second attempt to give the defending Stanley Cup champion Lightning their second victory in two nights. On Monday night, Martin St. Louis had a late short-handed goal to give Tampa Bay a 2-1 victory over the Islanders. Lundqvist made 19 saves in New York's sixth loss in its last eight games.
Wild 4, Red Wings 2
DETROIT -- Dwayne Roloson stopped 43 shots and held off a late rally and Brian Rolston had a goal and an assist to lift Minnesota over the Red Wings. Minnesota has won five of its last six and ended Detroit's five-game winning streak. Andrei Zyuzin, Filip Kuba and Alexandre Daigle also scored for the Wild. Tomas Holmstrom scored both goals for the Red Wings, who were continually frustrated by the Wild's close-checking, trapping system and by Roloson. Nicklas Lidstrom added two assists.
Devils 3, Panthers 0
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Brian Gionta scored two goals and Patrik Elias had an assist in his first game of the season to help New Jersey beat Florida. Elias, the Devils' leading scorer in each of the last five seasons, was sidelined for several months after contracting hepatitis A last spring while playing in Europe during the NHL lockout. Devils interim coach Lou Lamoriello inserted him in the first line with Gionta and Scott Gomez and the left wing received a loud ovation when he took the ice to start the game. Jamie Langenbrunner added New Jersey's final goal.
Avalanche 3, Predators 0
DENVER -- The Colorado Avalanche got a rare goal from Bob Boughner and goalie David Aebischer snapped a personal four-game losing streak in Colorado's win over Nashville. Aebischer stopped 32 shots and his second shutout this season and 12th of his career sent the Predators to their fourth straight loss. The Avalanche took a 1-0 lead when Boughner, a defenseman playing on the fourth line, picked up a rebound off of Alex Tanguay's shot in front of the net and put it past Tomas Vokoun at 15:23 of the first period. It was the first goal since Jan. 28, 2003, for Boughner, who hadn't even dressed for 19 of the Avalanche's 41 games this season.
Oilers 5, Blackhawks 0
EDMONTON, Alberta -- Fernando Pisani scored twice and Ty Conklin stopped 23 shots, leading the Edmonton Oilers to a victory over the reeling Chicago Blackhawks. Shawn Horcoff, Ryan Smyth and Jani Rita also scored for Edmonton, which moved within two points of the first-place Calgary Flames in the Northwest Division.
