ROBBERY Maurice Clarett surrenders to authorities in Columbus

COLUMBUS -- Maurice Clarett, former Ohio State running back, surrendered to police Monday evening, shortly after the conclusion of the Ohio State-Notre Dame football game in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
Clarett, 22, appeared shortly after 9 p.m. at the Franklin County Jail, police said.
Police have charged Clarett, of Youngstown, with aggravated robbery.

He was accompanied by his lawyer, Percy Squire, a Youngstown native. Squire has a law practice in Columbus.
Clarett, 22, will have an initial appearance today in Franklin County Municipal Court.
He is accused of flashing a gun and demanding property from a man and a woman behind the Opium Lounge in downtown Columbus shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.
Police said he fled with two men in a sport utility vehicle after he was identified by the bar owner, who happened to come out into the alley.
A cell phone was taken from the victims, who were not hurt.
Clarett helped the Buckeyes win the national championship in 2002. The Denver Broncos picked Clarett in last year's draft but later cut him.
