IMPORTANT MAINTENANCE: The splitter box of a Fowler Township septic system, shown here, contains an elbow-shaped PVC pipe used by homeowners to give various parts of a typical type of septic system's leach field a rest. The pipe to the left contains the water that comes from the septic tank. The other two pipes are gateways to the two sides of a leach field, where waste water is dispersed into the ground.
