NHL ROUNDUP Sunday's games

Mighty Ducks 4, Predators 2
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Joffrey Lupul scored a pair of goals in the first period to help lift Anaheim. It was the second win in as many nights for the Mighty Ducks, who beat St. Louis 5-4 in a shootout on Saturday. The two teams combined for five goals in the first period. The Predators jumped out to an early lead as Greg Johnson scored from the left side of the goal, shooting the puck behind Anaheim goaltender Ilja Bryzgalov at the 2:53 mark. Yanic Perreault gave the Predators a 2-0 lead on a breakway, firing a wrist shot past Bryzgalov from the middle of the slot at 12:53. Anaheim tied the game with consecutive goals from Lupul at 13:20 and 16:29. Scott Niedermayers power play goal from the top edge of the left circle with 40 seconds left in the period capped a 21-shot performance by Anaheim against Nashville goaltender Tomas Vokoun in the first period. Anaheim made it a two-goal advantage at 17:03 of the second. A shot by Teemu Selanne bounced off Vokouns pads and Jonathan Hedstrom skated in to shoot the rebound past Vokoun. The Mighty Ducks peppered Vokoun with 36 shots.
Thrashers 5, Capitals 2
WASHINGTON -- Marian Hossa scored twice, Ilya Kovalchuk had a goal and two assists to lead Atlanta. Scott Mellanby and Marc Savard each added a goal and an assist for Atlanta. Panthers 2, Sabres 1
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Joe Nieuwendyk scored 32 seconds into the game and Gary Roberts connected on the game-winner in a rare road win for Florida. Goaltender Roberto Luongo also stopped 28 shots for the Panthers, who improved to 7-2-1 in their last 10 games and upped their sagging road record to 4-14-3. Roberts scored a power-play goal in the third period, redirecting Olli Jokinen's shot past Ryan Miller. Henrik Tallinder scored for Buffalo, which had a five-game home winning streak snapped and lost for only the fifth time in 23 games (18-3-2).
