Coaches: John Robic enters his fourth season at YSU with an overall record of 36-51. John Marhefka is in his first season as head coach of the The Rock.
YSU starters: Doug Underwood, 6-3 sophomore guard (10.4 points per game, 3.5 rebounds last season), Marlon Williamson, 5-11 senior guard (3.3, 1.4); Adam Baumann, 6-8 junior center (first season at YSU); Brian Radakovich, 6-7 sophomore forward (6.2, 4.5); Tejay Anderson, 6-6 junior forward (9.4, 5.7).
Indiana State starters: David Moss, 6-5 freshman guard (first season); Marcus Howard, 6-2 junior guard (8.9, 2.9); Brian Giesen,, 6-9 senior center (first season); Catrel Green, 6-5 junior forward (first season); Wilfred Antoine, 5-10 junior (first season).
Game notes: The Penguins won their exhibition game two weeks ago against Upstate New York All-Stars 88-82 as Williamson led the way with 18 points, while junior transfer Jamal Porter had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. The Penguins were 5-23 a year ago and 2-14 in their first season in the Horizon League. Indiana State is coming off a 6-22 campaign in which they were 4-14 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Series: This will be the first meeting between the two teams.

WOMEN
Who: Youngstown State vs. Bowling Green

Where: Anderson Arena, Bowling Green.
Coaches: Ed DiGregorio begins his 20th season as head coach of the Penguins with a career record of 313-219. Curt Miller is in his second season with the Falcons and posted a 9-19 record last year.
YSU starters: Jessica Olmstead, 5-9 sophomore guard (1.3 points per game, 1.1 rebounds per game last season); Devin Novak, 5-10 junior guard (3.1, 0.8); Jen Perugini, 6-2 sophomore forward (10.4, 9.2); Jessica Forsythe, 5-10 junior forward (3.5, 1.5); Barb Fabianova, 6-0 sophomore forward (6.3, 2.5).
Bowling Green starters: Megan Jerome, 5-9 senior guard (3.0, 1.7); Lindsay Austin, 5-7 junior guard (9.2, 4.6); Karen Stocz, 6-0 senior center (3.3, 1.8); Stefanie Wentzel, 6-0 junior forward (11.6, 4.3); Francine Miller, 5-11 senior forward (17.5, 3.8).
Game notes: The Penguins are coming off back-to-back losing seasons for the first time since the mid-1980s. They were 12-16 last year and 8-8 in their first season in the Horizon League. Maggie Johnston is the lone senior on the team and the 5-5 point guard is still hampered by tendinitis in both knees. The Penguins have already lost junior guard Cathy Hanek of Youngstown for the season with an inflammatory arthritis condition. Bowling Green, which finished fourth in the Mid-American East Conference last season, has a local starter. 6-0 senior Karen Stocz is a former star at Lakeview High School in Cortland.
Series: Bowling Green leads the series 10-6 and has won nine of the last 10 meetings. Last year the Falcons posted 71-61 win at Beeghly Center. YSU has not won in Bowling Green since 1990.
