KELLY BAYTOS
School: Warren JFK
Grade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: Nine-hole average was 39.1. Was a state qualifier, earning first team all-district honors and academic all-Ohio honors.
Positive influence: Joe Allen, my PGA teaching professional. He taught me my swing and to keep a positive attitude and have fun.
Best memory: Shooting a 76 at the district tournament to qualify for the state meet.
Surprised to learn: My favorite subject is American History because I think it is interesting to learn about our country's past.
BETSY BERADUCE
School: Boardman
Grade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: Earned all-Steel Valley Conference honors and all academic-SVC honors the past two years. State qualifier for sectional champion team.
Positive influence: My dad. He has always been behind me and encouraged me to play for the fun of it. The first time I picked up a set up clubs, he made me promise him that if golf ever stopped being fun, I would put away my clubs.
Best memory: Winning the sectional tournament. At the turn, we were in fifth place and we didn't think we would make the cut, but we all finished well and surprised everyone.
Surprised to learn: At an SVC match, I whiffed on the first hole and still finished as the medalist. In any given round, I usually have at least one shot that I am completely embarrassed about.
FELICIA CIOTOLA
School: Canfield
Grade: Junior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-Metro Athletic Conference, second team all-Northeast Ohio, finished 15th at state meet.
Positive influence: George Bellino was always available to correct my problems before an important event. Diane McCall, my coach, always kept me from giving up. My family was always supporting me when I needed them the most. My nana, who took her time out to see me golf. And Tod Ossott, who helped me maintain my swing.
Best memory: Shooting par (36) at The Links against Niles.
Surprised to learn: When I am on the course, coaches think I don't talk. But every time I am golfing with my opponents or teammates, I always joke around and lighten everyone up.
KATIE DICK
School: Mooney
Grade: Junior
Statistics/accomplishments: Earned all-SVC and all-Northeast Ohio honors and was the medalist at the Spartan Invitational with a score of 78. Shot a 37 to finished third at Mill Creek.
Positive influence: My family and friends have contributed to my golf game and have always been there to support me in all that I do.
Best memory: All of our SVC matches. We had so much fun every time.
Surprised to learn: I am not really a serious person. I play golf because I love it.
BOYS GOLF ALL-STARS
JASON KOKRAK
School: Warren JFK
Grade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: Broke all-time scoring record at Ohio State's Gray Course with a 146 and was the Division III state medalist the past two years. Won seven tournaments, including state. Broke course and own school record at Seven Hills, shooting a 65 at the district tournament.
Positive influence: My father because he got me started. He would bring me out with his friends to play. Then I just started wanting to go myself when he didn't.
Best memory: Being state, district and sectional champion. But most of all, getting to state again as a team.
COLIN CLEMENTE
School: Warren JFK
Grade: Junior
Statistics/accomplishments: Earned first team all-Ohio the past three years. Was state runner-up to Kokrak in Div. III tournament. Earned first team all-Northeast Ohio and set school and course record with a round of 30. Was medalist at Bishops Cup, Cardinal Classic and Spartan Invitational. Has scoring average of 73.l and a 3.86 grade point average.
Positive influence: My family. My dad is always available to watch me play and play golf with me. My mom has encouraged me and spent time with me on the course and at the range since I was 3. Most importantly, my brother Patrick. His work ethic has been my model. Not only does he have a great game, he knows my game better than anyone. He is my "personal pro."
Best memory: Making an eight-footer on the last hole of a high school match to shoot 30 and set a course and JFK record.
Surprised to learn: I won a national basketball contest in Houston sponsored by the NBA and I would love to play football if golf didn't conflict.
SCOTT JONES
School: East Palestine
Year in school: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: Finished 12th in Div. II state tournament. Set school scoring average record with 35.2. Unanimous all-district pick and earned first team all-Tri-County League. Tied for second in sectional and district meets and was academic all-Ohio.
Best memory: Finishing second at the district tournament and qualifying for state. It was my biggest goal.
TIM MORROW
School: Boardman
Grade: Freshman
Statistics/accomplishments: Team won Steel Valley Conference title and qualified for state title. He won six tournaments and was named Ohio Golf Course Owners Association player of the year.
Positive influence: My dad because he is the one who showed me how to play golf. He has always been there to teach me the mental and physical parts of the game.
Best memory: Being at the state tournament with my teammates and completing the tasks it took to get there.
Surprised to learn: When I grow up, I hope to be a professional golfer. Whether it be on tour or not, I just want to golf for a living.
JAMES SCHEIBER
School: Warren JFK
Grade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: State runner-up as a team. First-team Northeast Ohio and academic all-Ohio.
Positive influence: My father because he has taught me and given me the chance to play golf. He has instilled a strong work ethic in me and has always encouraged me and helped me perform to my best abilities.
Best memory: Competing and being successful at state for the third straight year.
Surprised to learn: I enjoy all sports and all types of music. I have been playing golf since I was 4. Last year, within a one-week period, I was swarmed by bee hives twice on two different courses.
VICTOR DAPRILE
School: Boardman
Grade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: Team won the Steel Valley Conference title. Was the SVC medalist. Qualified for state. Averaged 38 for nine holes. A member of the victorious SVC Conference Cup team.
Positive influence: My family and friends have been a huge influence on me this year. They followed me all year and were very supportive on even the bad days. Also, Mike Shulas, who was my swing trainer, straightened me out usually the day of the match.
Best memory: Being part of the team this year and going all the way to state.
Surprised to learn: I am a semi-pro wakeboarder.
COACHES OF THE YEAR
BOB TODD
School: Warren JFK
Statistics/accomplishments: 6-0 in the nine-hole season. Won the sectional and district and finished second at state.
Positive influence: Mike Richetto, to get me started playing golf in 1964.
Best memory: Returning to the state tournament for the fifth time. Seeing Jason Kokrak be medalist for the second year.
BOB HELTZEL JR.
School: Warren JFK
Statistics/accomplishments: State runner-up, Div. III
Positive influence: Co-coach Bob Todd
Best memory: Development of the team throughout second half of year.
Surprised to learn: I always wanted to be a NHL hockey player.
