MERCER COUNTY Memorial bricks go on sale for honor garden

MERCER -- Bricks that can be inscribed with loved ones' names are on sale now for the Mercer County Memorial and Honor Garden.
The bricks will be placed in the garden the week of May 19, 2003. They cost $50 plus $3 sales tax.
Other additions planned for the garden in the coming year include fountains at each side of the garden, a finding guide and more flowering plants.
Over the last six months, flowers and shrubs have been mulched and memorial bricks sold in the last year were installed.
The Mercer County Memorial and Honor Garden was created to memorialize county residents. It is on the grounds of the county courthouse.
The committee overseeing the garden is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose goal is to create an attractive and peaceful garden on county property and to maintain the gardens without cost to taxpayers. No county funds have been used in construction or renovation of the garden areas.
