SBC Ameritech intendsto seek service approval
YOUNGSTOWN -- SBC Ameritech Ohio has informed the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio that it intends to file an application for approval to sell long-distance service in the first three months of next year. The phone company must persuade the regulators that it has opened its local telephone market to competition.
Meanwhile, Competition Ohio, a group that represents other phone companies, asked the PUCO to investigate SBC Ameritech for its recent job cuts in the state.
Wildlife Division to holdribbon-cutting ceremony
BOARDMAN -- The Wildlife Division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at its new office in Western Reserve Park, 590 E. Western Reserve Road. The park is being developed by Joseph Sylvester Construction Co.
