POLAND SCHOOLS Budget cuts



IMMEDIATE CUTS
Eliminate the purchase of all new/replacement classroom equipment for the current year.
Eliminate the purchase of all texts for the current year.
Eliminate general-fund expenditures for professional inservice to upgrade skills.
Eliminate all use of school facilities during after-school hours by nonschool groups.
A wage freeze for certified and noncertified employees for 2003-2004, regardless of the February levy outcome.
Change the current medical benefits to a PPO plan.
Freeze wages of all nonunion positions for 2003-2004, regardless of the February levy outcome.
Reduce general fund expenditures for building repairs.
Reduce classroom supplies and materials to state minimums.
Eliminate school-year tutoring for pupils who need proficiency test help.
Eliminate board of education service fund.
Eliminate purchase of new/replacement custodial equipment.
IF FEBRUARY SPECIAL LEVY FAILS
All immediate cuts continue.
Eliminate high school busing.
Eliminate busing for K-8 pupils except those living two or more miles from school.
Eliminate all extracurricular activities and authorize a pay-to-participate system.
Eliminate all complimentary passes to extracurricular activities.
Curriculum reductions.
Elimination of extended all-day kindergarten.
Cancel all field trips.
Eliminate all general-fund subsidies for cafeterias; eliminate all satellite lunch programs.
