Mature travelers are getting a nod from Norwegian Coastal Voyage, which is offering discounts to seniors of up to $220 per person.
The line bills itself as an alternative to the traditional cruise experience and schedules daily departures year-round along the 1,250-mile west coast of Norway.
Its ships stop at 34 ports between Bergen and Kirkenes, which lies above the Arctic Circle.
Each vessel in the fleet is a unique combination of first-class cruise ship and a working ship that carries local passengers and cargo between ports, serving as a lifeline to Norway's remote coastal towns and villages.

It extends senior savings of $95 to $120 per person on six-day southbound journeys from Kirkenes, $115 to $150 on seven-day northbound trips from Bergen, and $170 to $220 on 12-day round-trip voyages.
Partnership
The line also has a partnership with AARP's Privileges Program and regularly offers discounts to AARP members of between $70 and $100 per cabin on cruise-only bookings and up to $150 on the line's new air-inclusive expedition cruises to Spitsbergen, Greenland, Antarctica and the Chilean fjords.
Only Americans age 50 and older can join AARP, however. But if you're eligible, the line's two discount programs can be combined for even greater savings.
Depending on the season you sail, regular cruise-only rates before discounts range from $490 to $2,009 per person, double occupancy, for six days; $594 to $2,446 for seven days, and $883 to $3,645 for the 12-day round-trips. Gratuities are included.
Seniors traveling alone or who prefer not to share a cabin with a friend, sibling or child can economize by sailing by April 15, when the line waives the single supplement in most cabin categories.
To get the AARP discount or the line's senior savings, you must provide your membership number when you book and/or a copy of the page of your passport with date of birth, submitted before the final payment deadline.
