XINDIANAPOLIS -- The wedding of Laura L. Herbst and John M. Edwards Jr., both of Indianapolis, took place at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, where a reception was held afterward in the ballroom.
The Rev. Michael B. Ross presided at the ceremony for the daughter of Gertrud J. Cronk, 833 E. Florida Ave., Youngstown, and the late Edward S. Cronk, and the son of Luvena Hall, 2507 Farrar, Dunbar, W.Va., and the late John M. Edwards Sr.
After accepting congratulations, the couple left for a honeymoon in Tahiti.
They live at 2008 Fullerton Drive.
The bride's A-line gown of ivory satin was enhanced with lace, pearls and sequins and featured a cathedral train accented with rum-pink ribbons.
Celadon-green gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Marilyn Sutherlin, and the bridesmaid, Judy Speer, both of Indianapolis.
Toby Edwards of Charleston, W.Va., was his brother's best man, and groomsman was the groom's cousin, Howard Perry of Winfield, W.Va. Ring bearer was James Forehan of Plainfield, Ind.
The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree.
The groom, a senior auditor with the Department of Defense, Defense Contract Audit Agency, holds a bachelor's degree from Morris Harvey College in Charleston, W.Va.
