XNEW SPRINGFIELD -- Laura Bacon, a daughter of Wayne and Barbara Bacon, 14930 Beard Road, and Wayne Baird, a son of Raymond and Linda Baird, 7603 W. South Range Road, Salem, were married Oct. 5 at Trinity United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Chick Chanay presided as the couple exchanged nuptial vows during a 1:30 p.m. ceremony.
The newlyweds were honored afterward during a reception at The Embassy in Youngstown before leaving on a wedding trip to the Bahamas. They live in New Springfield.
The bride's strapless gown was embellished with pearls and sequins and featured a tulle skirt.
Wearing champagne-colored gowns were Bethann Bader, the bride's cousin and honor attendant; the bridesmaids, Rachel Ziccardi, Lisa Sicafuse, Paula Wonner and Cindy Bacon, the bride's sister-in-law; and the junior bridesmaids, Kimberly Little and Cheyanne Sears, nieces of the groom. Flower girl was the bride's niece, Cassie Bacon.
Rich Baird was his brother's best man, and groomsmen were Bill Patrick, Brandon Best, Jason Andrews, Michael Bacon, the bride's brother, and Adam Little, the groom's nephew. The bride's godson, Brandon Short, was ring bearer.
A graduate of Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in nursing, the bride is a registered nurse at Salem Community Hospital.
The groom is an assistant greenskeeper at The Links at Firestone Farms Golf Course, Columbiana.
