Getting there: From the junction of Interstate 64 and U.S. 23 in Catlettsburg, Ky., follow U.S. 23 about 50 miles to Paintsville, go south on Kentucky 321 to the intersection of Kentucky 1107, and from there, follow signs to the Loretta Lynn home place.
Lodging and dining: Paintsville, Ky., the nearest town, has a Ramada Inn, Days Inn and Budget Inn Express and an assortment of local and corporate-owned restaurants, whether the down-home favorites of Wilma's Restaurant or the traditional American foods of the Carriage House.
