Beatitude House gets $10,000 grant



YOUNGSTOWN -- Beatitude House has received a grant of $10,000 at the request of the Kennedy Family Foundation, a component of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.
Beatitude House, sponsored by the Ursuline Sisters, runs several programs for disadvantaged women and children in the Mahoning Valley. Programs focus on counseling to promote self-development and education to obtain skills.
It is a nonprofit organization started in 1991 that provides transitional housing for homeless women with children and an education/career preparation program for homeless and other disadvantaged women in Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
The transitional housing program provides women with children a place to live.
The education and career preparation program provides women with counseling and other support services while enhancing their basic skills to meet their goals of higher education or advanced career placement.
