VALLEY THOUGHTS Mahoning County sales tax

Some voter sentiment about the Mahoning County sales tax issue:
"I'm just so aggravated with what's going on in this county, and Trumbull County. Things never change. I remember when I was a young kid, Sheriff Ray T. Davis went to jail. ... Here we are, 40 years later, and it's still going on. It's like, my God, doesn't anybody learn? I think a lot of these guys start out with good intentions and the system ruins them. I wanted to express that, hey, I don't like what's going on, and are we ever going to change? " - George Cataline, 52, of Canfield, voted against the sales tax."I think we have financial problems, with all the industry and jobs we lost. I think we need the money." - Joseph Bell, 67, of Austintown, voted for sales tax.
"I think the county should do a little better job budgeting." - Dr. Albert Celec, 71, of Poland, voted against the sales tax.
"I work in Columbiana County, and I saw the effects that their failure to pass the sales tax, what it did to county government over the last six months, especially on the sheriff's department in the rural areas."- Dennis Spisak, 43, Struthers, voted for the sales tax.
