VALLEY THOUGHTS 17th District congressional race

Here's what some Mahoning Valley voters thought of the candidates for Congress from the 17th District:
"I think we need young blood in the Congress. [Ryan] of course does not have a lot of influence, but give him time. He is an energetic young man, and I'm sure he'll do well."
- Dorothy Myers, in her 80s, of Austintown, voted for Ryan.
"Benjamin is from Aurora, she has a $900,000 house and she's not moving into the district. Traficant's in prison. Ryan's home-grown."
- Ed Freisen, 51, of Newton Falls, voted for Ryan
"I just thought it was time for some new blood and a fresh face for our Valley. As I listened to the debates, Ryan would always talk about how he wasn't able to get anything passed because he was in the minority. - Dennis Spisak, 43, of Struthers, voted for Benjamin.
"I wasn't impressed with either of the other candidates, particularly Ryan. For the little bit of experience he has as a legislator on the state level, he does a lot of talking. Traficant had no chance of winning, [I did it] just to make a statement." Dan Sobnosky, 42, of Liberty, voted for Traficant.
